Whilst working at Drivers Jonas Deloitte I was the lead project manager for the development of three new GP health centres at various sites across Wolverhampton following the Darzi Review.
We took the project from inception and guided the PCT through an extensive site selection process involving negotiations with various land owners before directing the PCT through the design, planning, construction and ultimately timely hand-over of all three facilities.
The £3.5m project was delivered within a 9 month programme from start to finish during the course of which a number of significant issues were overcome, including the remediation of underground mine workings and capping of a mine shaft, coordination of the facilities with the PCT’s over-arching Strategic Services Development Programme (for which we were also engaged) and involvement in the production of some 28 legal agreements surrounding the land, building, GP contracts and Agreement to Leases across the three sites.
The appointment also included the preparation of the Employers Requirements, monitoring the construction works and administration of the design and construction contract between the PCT and Portakabin.
