Planning Permission Granted on Farmhouse Extension

Record Associates have just secured planning permission for the extension and re-configuration of Brook House near Wentnor which lies within the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The design of the extension has been carefully developed so that the extension is “subservient” to the main house whilst providing modern, enlarged bedroom and living accommodation which makes the most of the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The new extension will be clad in untreated larch cladding which will be extended around the existing, ugly 1970’s extension to draw together the different styles of construction and enhance the overall appearance of the property.

Record Associates were initially appointed to undertake a Level 3 Building Survey of the property to assess the condition of the premises prior to acquisition. This revealed extensive structural damage at one corner which is now proposed to be removed as part of the extension works.

Record Associates were then appointed to provide architectural design services and design the extension. In response to the brief, we developed a range of fenestration options before agreeing the final design. The planning documents can be accessed via the link below.
